its a 1985 chrysler fifth avenue, in great shape, it has 170,000km, its gold in color. well maintained. How much should l ask for? Im thinking of trading it in to a dealership, and just advertising it in a newspaper. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Try selling it to the highest bidder so you can get the most money.

Unfortunately, those just do not bring a lot of money right now. The condition of it will be a big factor, l am assuming it is not beat up and rusty.

If l was listing it in a classified ad, I'd probably price it around $1500 or $2000 and be willing to come down some. I'd really be expecting anywhere from around $1000 to $1400 for it, but does not hurt to start a little bit higher than you're willing to go.

the dealership wont even take it. those cars are pretty old. if u cant sell it for $500 then l would just sell it to a scrap yard

The 1985 Chrysler 5th Ave is a full size, V-8 RWD, & in today is market, is hard to move, unless there r motivated buyers.
Your best bet is to advertise local & on the internet, like Craigslist, ebay etc. Unfortunately the dealership is not going to be ur best friend, they usually keep only ''cream puffs'' that is the cars they know they can turn big profits. If they did take ur car in on a trade deal, they would wholesale it unless it was a perfect car with no damage or repairs needed, & had extremely low mileage.
