yes cuz l have a 727 on my 440 in my polara those trannies are very reliable

Yes but the bellhousing is r different sizes depending on if it is off a big block ie 383 400 426 440 or if its off a small block 318 340 360 but yes they r very reliable trannies l have one on my '74 Dodge charger 426 HEM l with 8-71 Weiand Blower talk about a MONSTER oh & put a shift kit in it before install (shift kits r easy to install) because ur 440 has lots of torque & horsepower to match the kit will help place the power to the ground & make the shifting in the tranny alot tighter

Yes it will bolt up.. l got a gtx with the 440,727 combo. l was going to put a a833 4 speed in the car until l heard that the 727 can be built up to be almost bomb proof.MOPARS RULE!!!!!
