will it stop the car from firing?

It is on the drivers side, under the hood, close to the back of the left heaadlight. It is the thinnest of 3 black boxes setting side by side. It has two electrical plugs on the top of it and is closest to the left fender.

Yes, it can keep the vehicle from getting spark and/or fuel & make it not run.

BUT before spending that kind of money on a guess, go & spend the money to get it diagnosed properly. Chances r very good that there is another problem other than the module such as a relay, sensor, fuel pump, etc.

Possibly the Auto Shut Down relay, it is in the relay/fuse block under the hood along with several other relays that r the same. Easy check for the relay is to swap one out that is not needed to run the vehicle & u know is working (such as A/C clutch or wipers). The relay is a $10 fix that u can do yourself if it is bad.

If u go & buy a new module, & that does not fix the problem, u will not be able to return it & will have spen that money for nothing. The diagnostic fee is usually around $75 to $100 & will pinpoint the problem for u without having to guess & replace a bunch of sensors, modules, etc that r not necessary.

I've seen people throw hundreds of dollars at a car trying to fix it, then finally give up & bring it in for us to fix. Usually a sensor or some other problem that they did not think of.

I've seen way, way too many new powertrain control modules in vehicles where they say ''(insert name of relative, friend, or other acquaintance) told me it needed a new computer'' so they replace it going on their word thinking it will fix it.

Module at the dealer will cost anywhere from about $400 on up, diagnostic is usually 1 hour flat rate, which should be anywhere from around $75 on up depending on labor rates in ur area. Some shops do not charge diagnostic fee if u have them fix the problem.
