My plymouth 2001 neon has a code p0171 code? what does that mean and how do I fix it?

It is the 'fuel system lean' code, however a diagnostic scan is needed to tell more about the likely cause of this problem. If you can not get the scan done, try replacing the fuel filter and maybe a fuel treatment to see if your condition improves.

p0171 is bank one to lean, in most case is this is because its getting to much air from some where.
check all the vacuum hose's, but ill bet the its your PVC hose, over time they just ware out and get a hole in em, and l have had 2 cars with this same code in the last 6 weeks and both was the PVC hose
