where is the best place to get the cheapest roots supercharger kit for my 383 chrysler engine?
i dont have one...i want one
its an old 383 magnum in a carbureted '69 charger

Check your local speed shops first, as long as the case and rotors are not cracked, parts are readily available for these blowers. Otherwise, if you want new, try these:

You can get these new from several sources in the smaller models. Originally in the 60 is & 50 is hotrodders used the 671 & l think was a 471 supercharger from such as Detroit Diesel truck engines from 18 wheelers. They used special manifolds that r still available to bolt them on. u can still do that from salvage facilities yourself as most truck supply places can probably put u in touch with a good used 671 blower. The newer blower kits that come complete with manifolds & belt drives, etc. use a smaller blower that is custom made for cars & trucks. Do not forget that one other option is a regular ''Paxton'' style belt driven supercharger that drives off a regular fan belt & hangs on the front of the motor with ur other accessories. These do the same basic job with not quite the amount of boost but r usually easier & cheaper to do. Universal kits r available for those as well. Check hot rod magazines in the back section with all the classified ads as usually a lot of places running ads for those. Those Paxton units r centrifugal instead of the roots type blowers that r positive displacement & mount on the top of the engine. Also used the big antique vehicle swap meets such as the one at Hershey, Penn. each year r great places as well to find them. California has a lot of these as well.
